INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 10 DAY COUNTDOWN

TEN DAY COUNTDOWN In present-day Nigeria, the advocacy for the education of the girl-child has gained astronomical audience and enviable attention. Why? No one wants to be labelled unsympathetic towards the girl-child in a bid to realise her dreams, with or without her voice defining who she wants to be. The sixty-four-thousand-dollar question remains: when a girl-child is offered or given education, should she be offered a role or guided to choose her own roleplay in the society? At this year’s International Day of the Girl-child, the paradigm will shift from limiting the girl-child’s expectations to providing her with rubrics that will guide her into choosing herself, at all times,…

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2019 LOADING 70 PERCENT

Last year, we took a bold step forward in a bid to crushing societal stereotypic thinking toward the girl-child, we ignited the fire that burns brightly in the heart of the girl-child and we helped guide her heart on setting her foot on the track of her own choosing. And as the annual International Day of the Girl Child draws near, we are here again, super-geared to help the girl-child break out of the cages of ready-made expectations in order for her to redesign her own dreams with the numerous blocks that pile up around her. We cannot fold our arms while the society continues to tag our girls with…

DALAI LAMA FELLOWSHIP – END OF THE JOURNEY

It was a nice experience to be a fellow of the Dalai Lama fellowship. The Dalai Lama Fellowship offers emerging leaders a rigorous, interdisciplinary program on ways to be a different kind of leader, a leader that connects and cares for self, extends genuine compassion to others, and works for the common humanity. Fellows cultivate practices in mind-training for increasing self-awareness, self-care and resilience, for connecting with others and working across differences, and in building solutions for generations to come. Over the course of the year, with the support of mentors and coaches, each fellow designs and implements an original field project addressing a global challenge. Upon graduation, fellows join…

    INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2019

#internationalwomensday #ThinkEqual #BuildSmart #InnovateforChange #Balanceforbetter #iwd2019 On October 15, 2007, Condé Nast Portfolio Magazine published in it’s Masters of Invention Portfolio a list of the world’s most prolific inventors alive. The top 10 was dominated entirely by men. Inventions that could potentially shape the future are made mostly by men who though not necessary intentionally but subconsciously create technology that ignores women. How can we achieve equality when we are underrepresented in the fields of science and technology? How can we build when we don’t have builders?   This year, we are encouraging everyone to always have gender equality at the back of their minds when they are thinking and…

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SCIENCE

“Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.” Those were the famous words of Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, first person to win it twice & the only one to win in 2 different sciences. Women for so long have believed or have been believed not to be made for science or mathematics but we are out to discard that false narrative. So for once, we’ll ignore Marie and be curious about people as we inquire into the groundbreaking life of Opeyemi Olujobi…  Tell us about yourself? My name is Opeyemi Olujobi, a graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Technology,…
