  1. The piece of news that Michelle Alozie is a molecular biology graduate, a worker in a paediatric hospital and at the same time a professional footballer was like music to my ears. African parents find it weird having a daughter juggling two skilled labour as such right from tender age.

  2. The Inspirational Journey of Michelle Alozie

In a world filled with endless possibilities, it takes someone truly remarkable to inspire and push one to new horizons. Michelle Alozie, a highly driven individual, has not only excelled in her career as a cancer research technician but has also shown immense dedication to extracurricular activities, football in particular. This essay aims to shed light on the reasons why Michelle Alozie serves as an inspiration to me.

One aspect of Michelle Alozie’s journey that inspires me is her relentless pursuit of excellence. With her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology from Yale University, she has not only demonstrated her intellectual capabilities but also her commitment to her field of study. Michelle’s passion for her work as a cancer research technician at the Texas Children’s Hospital showcases her unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Through her continued efforts in the medical field, she reminds me of the importance of striving for excellence in my own chosen career path.

Michelle Alozie’s ability to engage in extracurricular activities, football in particular, while pursuing her career is another source of inspiration for me. She exemplifies the art of finding balance. Michelle’s courage to pursue her passion for football alongside her demanding job at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas encourages me to explore my own interests outside of my professional life. It reminds me that it is possible to have a well-rounded and fulfilling life, even while pursuing a demanding career.

Michelle Alozie’s journey as a molecular biologist, cancer research technician, and Nigerian female football player is nothing short of inspirational. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and ability to balance multiple roles serve as a constant reminder to me. Through her accomplishments, she shows that it is possible to excel in one’s career while actively pursuing multiple passions. Michelle Alozie inspires me to strive for greatness, find balance, and challenge societal norms. She motivates me to push beyond my own limitations and strive for success in all areas of my life.

  3. Onome Ebi is a stand out star, an icon and inspiration for Nigeria girl child and women across the world. Her story inspires me because in a world where females value is tied around childbirth, Onome Ebi has played in 6 different women world cup; her ability to break out on the international scene at a very tender age and maintain the level to play at 6 different world cup shows bravery, discipline and resilience which I think every female should have. She is a Super Falcons legend that even the official page of Fifa Women’s World Cup maintains that she is “An Icon”.

  4. Asisat Oshoala’s wide manner of cekebrating herself after hitting a goal at the world cup Is really inspirational and Whatever insult you’ll give to visionary and achiever for celebrating her victory this way is absolutely null.

Asisat Oshoala, a Nigerian footballer who is widely considered one of the best female players in the world, known for her speed, skill, and creativity on the pitch. Not only is she an incredible player, but she’s also a role model for girls and women around the world.

Talking about soccer generally, In many countries, soccer has given women and girls the opportunity to be active, to develop confidence, and to challenge gender stereotypes.

It’s also created economic opportunities for female players and provided role models for young girls.

Many young girls look up to players like Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and Marta, who are not only excellent soccer players, but also outspoken advocates for women’s rights.

These role models inspire girls to pursue their goals and to fight for gender equality. In this way, soccer is not just a sport, but also a vehicle for social change.

Soccer has helped to break down gender stereotypes around the world. For example, in some countries, girls playing soccer is seen as inappropriate or unfeminine.

However, as more and more girls and women play the sport, these stereotypes are being challenged and broken down.

  6. Rasheedat Ajibade is professional football player for the Atletico Madrid Femini club and for the Nigeria Super Falcons. She started out as a young girl from the street of Mushin who against all odds, locked in on her passion for football and went on from being named in a top ten list of the most promising young footballer on the African continent by Goal.com back in 2019 to becoming a vital piece in the qualification of the super falcon to reaching the round of 16 at the ongoing Women World Cup.
Being a girl child from a poor home, her inspirational journey spanned across having to deal with the usual lack of support, having to sell in the market, the many horrors that came with acquiring sport gears and taking on odd jobs in a bid to support her family to captaining the Nigerian team to the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup in 2016, scoring vital goals to help Nigeria secure qualification at the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in 2018 and making her senior debut for Nigeria in WAFU Cup in 2018 whilst making sure to bag a degree in accounting and another in sports psychology as she progressed.
Despite being a male child, I find Rasheedat Ajibade’s odyssey a ever galvanizing motivation to keep going, try to always strike a balance between facets of life while cautiously navigating the ever tempestuous waters in life, always keeping in mind to try again where I’ve failed and always bear in mind to hold my head high in the seemingly lowest moments life could hurl my way because being a professional footballer I’ve seen her deal with those and bounced back stronger.
She embodies all there is that could be called resilience and tenacity always giving her all on the on the pitch for both club and country, constantly oozing confidence and positivity never failing to give back to her roots and community in show of her support to grassroots and football talents in Nigeria to which her #StandOutWithRASH campaign attests, a noble and exemplary path I hope to tread someday.

  7. For a religion that has often come under fire for its alleged suppression of the female gender, Benzina’s action was a breath of fresh air and a beacon of hope for not only Female Footballers, but also Female Muslims who use religion as an excuse for not doing exploits.

Morocco’s Nohuaïla Benzina recently made history as the first player to participate in a World Cup match, while wearing the Islamic Headscarf (Hijab).
Not only that, she also made sure to cover her thighs with sporting apparels.
    And what’s more?
Both actions did not impact her performances negatively.

Most times, it is said that most Muslim women are forced to wear the Islamic Headscarf by either their parents or their husbands, that if provided an opportunity to choose, they’d easily discard the Headscarf.
Here is someone playing on the biggest stage imaginable for a female footballer and still managing to retain the teachings of her religion. Her Stellar performances during this world Cup are irrefutable proof that she wasn’t forced to wear it. It is common knowledge that it is difficult to maintain top performances while being unhappy, which she would have been if she had been forced to wear the headscarf.

What makes her actions particularly inspiring is the fact that it transcends gender limits, it goes beyond football or religion. It is a lesson to all of us that we should never let a moment define us, we should never let a grand occasion change what we believe in, as long as we believe in the justification of our actions.
True leaders are those who rise to every occasion and perform outstanding feats, yet, managing to retain their character and personality.
The beauty of her action is further cemented by EA Sports introducing the Hijab to her character in the EA football game.

Benzina is a woman after my heart. Here is a woman away from her home, away from her family, away from her sheikhs and mullahs, yet she continued to exhibit the modesty and decency associated with Muslimahs. Definitely one for the record books.

Her story fascinates and inspires me deeply, maybe it’s because I’m also a Muslim schooling in a predominantly Christian environment, or perhaps it’s because her name rhymes with that lethal French striker; Benzema, I can’t say.
But what I’m certain of, no one can deny the motivating persona that Benzina has become.

  8. THE INSPIRATIONAL STORY OF A NIGERIAN LADY AND AFRICA FOOTBALL QUEEN – ASISAT OSHOALA
Asisat Oshoala, a Nigerian female footballer born and bred in Lagos plays football solely to win. The talented Nigerian forward has etched her name in the history books despite the obstacles she faced, recently, She became the first Nigerian player to score at three different editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Oshoala’s accomplishment is a testament to her remarkable consistency and skills on the international stage. She has been a source of inspiration for aspiring young girls in Nigeria and across Africa.

Personally, Asisat is a source of inspiration to me. Her dedication and hard work paved the way for her in achieving success in football and I really admire her for that. I have always loved playing football since I was age 6 but I didn’t get enough encouragement and motivation I needed. But I can vividly remember that the first time I watched her playing, I felt some sort of courage and strength to face the world of football. I fell in love with the way she played and I must say, mere seeing her training videos inspires and motivates me very much.
Most of her speeches are also encouraging because she tells every aspiring young girls to tackle and conquer every obstacles standing in their way to success.
I chose her as my Role model and I’m proud to say that I belong to a female football team in Nigeria. She made aspiring young girls believe in their dreams and talents. Her goals have helped Nigeria make their mark in women’s football and gain recognition on a global scale. She has won several individual awards including the African Women’s Footballer of the Year on multiple occasions. Oshoala has also excelled at the club level enjoying stints with prominent clubs like Liverpool Ladies FC Barcelona and currently the Chinese side Dalian Quanjian. These and many more are the achievements of the footballer.
Indeed! She is a blessing to Nigeria and Africa at large.

  9. The Inspiring Story of Brigit Prinz.
Brigit Prinz, former Captain of the German women’s senior national team is arguably the most prolific women ‘s footballer Europe has ever had. I remember watching her during 2003 and 2007 Women’s world cups as a child. Where she led German to back to back world cup wins.

Prinz inspired other young women footballers like Lena Peterman and Alexandra Poop. Not just Germany but around the world. She was world women’s footballer of the year three times.
The former German Captain was not just a prolific footballer, but was also an intellectual, a natural born leader, a disciplined tactician and a generational talent. Her rivalry with the great Marta of Brazil was legendary.

  10. WOMEN KICKING THROUGH FOOTBALL GLASS CEILING–Inspirational Story Of A Woman Footballer.

Played for 10 different clubs over the last 23 years, and she’s the first African football player (male and female) who has appeared 6 times at the World Cup Tournament. I believe that Oneme Ebi is an exceptional woman that needs to be studied and emulated by everyone.

Oneme Ebi is a Nigerian Footballer who plays centre-back for Nigeria Abia Angels and the Nigeria Women’s national team and most importantly the first African footballer who has played in 6 FIFA World Cup Tournaments.

In an interview with the BBC, she said, “She never believed she would still be playing in her sixth world tournament and it has taken more than 20 years of playing top football to obtain that achievement”.

I am motivated and challenged by her bravery and determination to achieve these feats and this inspires me not just to set goals, but vehemently work towards them through simplified processes.

Then, she added that when you are dedicated and disciplined, it can take you beyond your wildest imagination.

By her words, I have come to realise that irrespective of the profession I have chosen, so far I am dedicated, focused and relentless, I will not only become one of the best in my field but also remain relevant for as long as possible.
